Order Obsession: 30+ Images Of Perfectly Arranged Spaces

In a world full of disorder,  we all need some equilibrium. Thankfully, scientists have already figured out how to pacify the human brain. From a visual standpoint, nothing soothes the human eye like symmetry. It makes sense. The human body is, after all, almost perfectly symmetrical. If we split it in half vertically, outwardly, the two parts would look the same. Researchers have found that our brain feels a dopamine rush whenever we see something evenly patterned, color-coded, or repeated. This tricks the brain into lessening its anxieties as there is little to no element of surprise. Interestingly, the most visually attractive celebrities worldwide are noted for having symmetrical faces. We have compiled some satisfying images for this listicle that might help you relax. Who knows? These might prompt you to clean your room or arrange your books finally.

Book Heaven

There is no such thing as an ugly book (other than Deathnotes and that hideous monster book from the third Harry Potter movie). Even a simple hardcover book can look endlessly elegant on a shelf. This is why rich people who never read a single poem, like to have pristinely arranged bookshelves.

However, when books are in a color-coded arrangement like the one above, it can quickly start a small fire on Instagram. This beautiful shelf makes us want to grab a cup of hot chocolate, curl up by the fireplace, and read until the wee hours.

Carrots

We do not doubt that this neat stack of carrots is a nightmare for trypophobic people. However, for those with OCD, this is nothing short of a Van Gogh painting. We can imagine them standing in the veggie aisle and completely mesmerized by the carrots.

Even if you don’t have OCD, you have to admit there is something satisfying about it. They succeeded if the grocery store tried to make the carrots look more appealing to the customers. They might have overdone it. The customers might not even touch it. What if it collapses like a Jenga tower?

Granny Smith

An apple a day will keep the doctor away. This stack of apples, however, can cure the whole town with just its visuals alone. This beautiful arrangement of Granny Smith apples cleared our skin, paid off our debts, and found us a pretty wife.

If you have ever worked in a supermarket, you should know that the corporation trains its workers to arrange the products and fresh produce symmetrically. That will attract the customers’ attention and prompt them to buy it. We have no doubt this store sold out of green apples that day.

Plums

There is no doubt in our hearts that this is a beautiful stack of plums. It is admirable that they took so much time to sort it gorgeously. From this picture, we have reasons to assume that every resident of that town is exemplary, not crossing roads until the traffic light says so.

Everyone from where this supermarket is has a credit score above 800. We can confidently say that had this plum pyramid has been in our locality, it would have crumbled like our life within seconds of the store opening. We are sure someone would ruin this masterpiece by taking plum from the bottom.

Sushi

Yosuke Imada, a world-class sushi master from Kyubey, once said that Japanese cuisine looks beautiful because humans eat with their eyes first. Therefore, the country puts a big emphasis on making its food presentable. No one knew sliced fish looked like jewels before Japan made sushi.

Sushi is already the perfect food. It makes us appreciate the natural flavor of the ingredients without overpowering anything. As a sushi connoisseur, this photo is equivalent to a Michelangelo sculpture. They even made the arrangement look like a giant fish. You have to admire the Japanese for their dedication.

Hanger 47

The more you live, the more you learn, and today, we discovered that even hangers, which most folks ignore, can look aesthetic if they are in the right hands. Had it been us, these would have been a tangled mess. It also helps that they are wooden.

Wooden hangers are not only good looking (the faux plastic ones painted to look like wood do not count), but they are also environmentally friendly as they are compostable. They can look like they came out of a modern art gallery with the right amount of symmetry.

Ice Ice Baby

Not even The Neighbourhood’s “Sweater Weather” can rival the chill this single image brought us, figuratively and literally. Sometimes, one good worker can make a lot of difference. Not only does this freezer look soothing, but it’s also very clever with arrangement.

Most supermarkets stack it sideways or throw it all in one messy pile. Not only do they look ugly, they also ruin the shape of ice cubes. Some of them get stuck together and do not fit in glasses. This is more practical as it preserves the shape beautifully.

Balance

You know what? We get it. We finally understand why our parents were hellbent on making us clean our rooms and organize everything. Just look at this basement. There is nothing flashy about it, and the owner did not color-code the boxes either, but it’s pristine.

Yet they look very neat and elegant side by side. Just looking at it relaxes us, or maybe this is a sign that we are already old. However, just from this one organized basement, we can safely assume that the owner of this house is very meticulous.

Shrimp

If you grew up in a traditional Asian household, you have experienced moms, aunts, and grandmothers pestering you to eat the shrimp heads. Apparently, it had a lot of health benefits, such as heightened cognition, sharper memory, and better heart health.

Shrimp heads are not particularly pretty. Frankly, they look like decapitated bugs. Therefore, as children, we were hesitant to eat them. If grandma presented us this particular plate, we would have been even more reluctant to eat them. Ruining such a masterpiece feels sacrilegious.

Tidy

They say perfection is overrated. Yet here we are. The only imperfect thing about it is that it’s too perfect. Had we been at this store, we wouldn’t dare take something off the shelves and put it in our cart.

It would feel as if we were desecrating an art piece. Throwing a pie at Mona Lisa’s face would feel less sacrilegious than buying something from this shelf. We can imagine Gen Zs crowding at this aisle and taking photos for their social media.

Green

We are not vegan. Although we respect vegans for their dedication, morals, and ethics (we are not talking about the angry vegans who pressure and shame others’ diets), we simply cannot quit being carnivores since meat is far too delicious.

However, looking at this veggie aisle, we think it’s not that difficult. The color green has scientifically proved to be soothing. The human eye also enjoys finding patterns. For example, this veggies aisle cleverly placed colorful veggies such as carrots and purple cabbages in a zigzag fashion.

Eggs

Fun fact: the eggshell’s color depends on the mother hen’s color. If it is a white hen, her egg will be white. Consequently, the egg will be darker if it comes from a black hen. Why are we telling you this? Look at the photo.

From how this egg carton was organized, we can already tell that the OP raises and has a wide variety of chickens. Unsurprisingly, they made such an adorable and organized egg carton. Only people who have enough discipline to raise feathered dinosaurs can come up with something like this.

Broom

Brooms are essential house tools. It doesn’t matter if you have a high-tech vacuum cleaner or a Roomba. Nothing can even replace the simple efficiency of an old-school broom. Every adult needs a sturdy broom to live a neat and organized lifestyle.

This, however, is a neat freak’s dream come true. Dare we say, it is a double whammy. Not only are key tools to living a clean life, but they are also arranged in a symmetrical fashion that soothes the mind, eyes, and soul. It’s a triple whammy if you consider green a calm color.

Truck

Remember how, back in school, we solved math problems with ridiculous scenarios? Far too often have we wondered why some random guy had 14 million carrots in their truck. Finally, we have found that guy from the math problems. Yes, he exists and was not a figment of our teacher’s imaginations.

According to color theory, oranges and blues are opposites of each other. Hence, the contrast creates a visual effect that can mesmerize humans and horses alike. You can tell the farmers are proud of their produce. They made the carrots a deserving farewell by stacking them so beautifully.

Plumbers

This happens when someone fails to get accepted into art school and instead uses their skill for good rather than doing inhuman things. Be more like this plumber, and never forget your craft. Just look at how beautiful this is.

If someone told us that this is taken from a postmodern art gallery and it happens to have a profound meaning that juxtaposes the social narrative, we would not question them. We are not the biggest fan of modern art. However, we could easily stare at this for hours.

Cardboard

Pro tip: if you do not have the money to buy tickets to art galleries, find a town with a reputed art school and visit the nearest Home Depot. You can thank us later. It will be a free walk through an art gallery, and you can stay as long as you want or until the store closes.

The best way we can describe looking at this cardboard stack is ‘euphoria.’ This reminds us of the first time we listened to ASMR audio. Looking at this intricate stack makes us feel as if everything will be fine in the future.

Cables

One netizen said this photo depicts biblically accurate Hatsune Miku, and we could not stop laughing. Jokes aside, it indeed does look ethereal. The symmetry in this picture makes it seem as if it came out of the Holy Bible. We wonder how many hours it took to get the cables in this order.

However, this creation is part of one of the most significant man-made projects in the world, which is computer technology. If we were part of this company, we would refuse to touch the wires and ruin the patterns, even if it led to the computer crashing.

Spice

You know you have grown up when you find yourself drooling after a spice cabinet. We do not care what anyone says. Spices are what make dishes shine. Even if you cannot tolerate chilies and peppers, millions of other flavors will suit your palate.

If you have anyone who loves cooking, buy them spices, and they will love you until they die. One of our cousins cleverly built our grandmother an aesthetic spice drawer like this. No one was surprised when she received the lion’s share of Grandma’s will.

Fabric

If you ever feel upset about your lack of productivity, remember that someone in some part of the world organized their fabrics meticulously. When you remember that, you will feel more upset, and it will 100% ruin the rest of your day.

Who knows? This might finally motivate you to deal with the mountain of clothes piled up on that unfortunate chair in your room. Remember that prodigy cousin that your parents always compare you to? The OP might be that person.

Marker

We can tell our parents are glad that our town did not have such beautiful stationery and bookstores. Knowing how impulsive we were as a child, we would have driven them bankrupt by buying things we didn’t need. We don’t need a thousand pens, but it feels good to have them.

This bookstore should have a line out of the door every day. After all, they figured out how to manipulate buyers’ impulses. Colors, symmetry, and patterns are equivalent to drugs to the human eye. By making a centerpiece like this, the customers will buy a marker, even if they do not need it.

Bikes

If there is one thing you should know about the Netherlands, it’s that they love their bicycles. In a country with 17 million inhabitants, they have 23 million bicycles. Therefore, if you want to look at picturesque bikes, look no further than the Netherlands.

We do not know if someone intentionally arranged these bikes with symmetry. It does not matter. All we know is that we could stare at it for hours. Even the bikes all look identical. We can’t help but this photo is likely from a bike rental or a military academy.

Yarn

Pro-tip for those suffering from crippling anxiety: try knitting and crocheting. Psychiatrists often recommend these hobbies to their anxious patients. As previously mentioned, human brains are inherently fond of repeated patterns, and knitting and crocheting require you to repeat the same hand movement repeatedly.

This gives the knitter the illusion of absolute control and makes them relax. If you take your anxious friend to a beautiful yarn shop like this, they will be grateful to you forever. The same goes for your grandma. They will leave you their house in the will.

Soda

God is testing us, and we did not study. God also put us genetically at risk of diabetes and gave us a crippling hunger for all things sugary. It all reminds us of how Zeus entrusted Pandora with the box of evil despite her endless curiosity.

Soda lovers like us are doomed for failure when supermarkets shelf bright, fruity drinks, as well as hire workers with OCD who love color coding. By this point, we and our cardiologist have already accepted that we will not live a day beyond our 50th birthday.

Hang In There

Last time, like a hypocrite, we claimed that we did not like plastic hangers as they were uncompostable and harmful to the environment. Yet now, we find ourselves in the awkward position of drooling at a stack of plastic hangers. But it’s normal for folks to change their minds, right?

We are so glad that our local mall and supermarket lack a sense of beauty and throw all products in a careless pile. We would be in significant trouble if our locals learned to use symmetry to attract consumers to spend their hard-earned money mindlessly.

Pepper

A good ol’ pepper grinder is something we all have in our house pantry. There is nothing special about it. It’s sturdy and dependable and dispenses freshly cracked black pepper when needed. However, today, we learned that pepper grinders can also become art.

Remember how our parents had those wacky decorative bottles with fruits and vegetables in them? We are entering that phase of life with these colorful arrays of pepper grinders. One household does not need more than two pepper grinders. Yet here we are, plotting to buy 15 of these.

Polos

Someone once told us that polo shirts are the salt and pepper of men’s apparel. We still think about that statement sometimes. Just like salt and pepper, polo shirts get the job done. However, they still feel boring and basic.

However, in the hands of a perfectionist, even polos can seem high fashion. This store shelf looks unique due to some basic color coding. However, our criticism is that this is not very practical. Customers will easily mess up all the hard work invested here.

Party City

Party City is notorious for being a chaotic landmine of all things related to partying. However, their recent remodeling has made the chain more approachable to customers. It all happened because they, too, started maintaining symmetry and ombre of colors.

Now you know where to go shopping for pride rallies or the birthday of June babies. Just look at this colorful array of party costumes. Grab six friends (assuming you are social enough) and assign them a rainbow color. After that, you can all enjoy June together.

Spoon

Unpopular opinion: we think that one of the first steps to becoming a proper adult is buying yourself some good silverware. The day you stop using plastic forks and start using quality materials is when you start being a responsible adult.

Of course, you have to take good care of your new metallic friends so that they last you a lifetime (you better use them for a lifetime. They are very expensive). To do that, everyone needs an organized silverware drawer like this. This will help keep track of them.

Food Prep

Oh yes, we are most certainly old. If the back pain, eye wrinkles, and white strands did not already give it away, we now know from how we are ogling at this refrigerator. Suddenly, we are craving some fresh salad.

In our twenties, we would have never considered such blasphemous thoughts. Why go for a kale salad when you can have a cold pizza from last week? Besides how clean and organized this refrigerator is, the OP took the proper measures to preserve the produce. We know that because we are old.

Fridge

Another pro tip of adulting is to invest in some good quality Tupperware. Invest in them even if it costs you an arm and a leg. Believe us, they will save you thousands of dollars and tons of stress in the long run.

Tupperware not only makes your inventory organized and clean, it also reduces food waste. If you like to meal prep for the week, you will find no better friend than Tupperware. So when you find a reputable seller, buy in bulk.

Gradient

Most bibliophiles are statistically more prone to sorting their book collection alphabetically. We do not blame them. Alphabetical order makes the most sense, whether it is a private or public book collection. However, no one can deny how visually attractive color coding is.

They may not be the most practical, but when you start sorting books according to a color scheme, it will push you to read things beyond your comfort zone. For example, we bought and read an apocalypse novel because we needed a lime-colored book for a green gradient.

Sauce

It is comical how Taco Bell, a place that all sorts of people frequent, has such a harmonious little sauce bar. Kudos to the worker who took their time to make this masterpiece. We don’t have the patienceor the energy for this.

Someone eating something from Taco Bell will most likely suffer from explosive diarrhea later. On the bright side, at least they witnessed this gorgeous array of sauces. Looking at this made us crave Taco Bell even though we know it’s terrible for us.

Pantry

Pinterest is undeniably the best site on the World Wide Web. Unlike other social media, Pinterest has no unnecessary trends, drama, or toxicity. All it offers are beautiful image boards for free. Therapy might be expensive. However, Pinterest is free.

However, photos like these make us wonder if the site is subtly pushing us to the therapist’s couch. This pantry looks as if a fairy decorated it. How could we, mere mortals, aspire to be at this level of elegance and discipline? We’re going to need all the luck we can get.

 Apps

Oh, the things we do for aesthetics. If you live the color grading lifestyle, be prepared to leave your comfort zone often and open yourself up to new experiences. You will find yourself buying things you do not need far too often.

However, that is the fun part about having ample disposable income. You can buy whatever you want, whether outdated or abysmally cringe. For example, no one other than millennials and boomers use Facebook. Yet there it is, existing solely for its blue icon.

Pinterest

If you are on a budget yet want to live the Pinterest lifestyle, look no further than your local Dollar Store (actually, it should be named the $1.25 store. Inflation sucks) or Marshals. If you look hard enough, you will easily find items that can be passed off as luxurious.

Make sure to choose a color palette that synchronizes with your house interior. Once you do that, find items within your chosen color palette. Try to buy them in even numbers to create visual symmetry. Some YouTubers monthly showcase the newest edition in affordable stores.

Rainbow

You may have noticed that rainbows are highly popular among those who like to color code. Studies have found many reasons why humans are obsessed with rainbows. The seven-colored phenomena naturally have a perfect gradient that fits in almost everywhere.

Rainbows are rare and visible for only a short period. Hence, humans try to encapsulate the colors artificially. In some cultures, they represent hope, peace, and harmony. You can buy utensils such as these in giant sets at affordable prices.

Synesthesia

If you struggle to color code your house, get help from your local synesthesiac. Synesthesia is a rare cognitive and visual condition. Some studies say that only 4% of the world has synesthesia. Others claim that 1 in 8 people have it.

If you look hard enough, you will find someone who can help you. Synesthesiacs are sensitive to colors. Thus, their brains process colors first. Hence, they prefer color coding above alphabetical or numerical sorting. Someone with synesthesia sorted this shelf and clearly knows what they are doing.

Shells

At first glance, we thought those were croissant samples made by some passionate baker. Making one croissant is hard enough (seriously, croissants are one of the hardest pastries to make). Making hundreds of them in different colors feels like a personal nightmare.

Thankfully, these are sea snail shells. Collecting these was no easy task either. Each of them is different despite being of the same size. The fact that some biologists took so much time to collect these samples to create this gradient is genuinely admirable.

Hot Wheels

We hate to sound like those Gen X senior citizens. However, kids these days are truly pitiful. We especially feel bad for the iPad kids and the 10-year-old girls in Sephora. These children have never heard of Hot Wheels; nothing is sadder than that.

Everyone over 25 is hit with whiplash of nostalgia when Hot Wheels are mentioned. These little toy cars were available everywhere. They frequently came out with stylish models. Back in the day, you used to trade like Pokemon cards. This collection in the image is easily hundreds of dollars today.

Wired

It is a common joke that despite making tons of money, IT people are known for their lifelessness. We are not sure if the rumors are correct or not. Although, we know for sure that this is an amusement park made solely for IT workers.

At first glance, we thought it was a cathedral. To be fair, this kind of beauty can be found in the Bible. This is the power of colors and symmetry. Perhaps you, too, can use these tricks to decorate your house and projects.

Mail

No, this is not a cake made with colored staplers. Instead, these emails have been printed and will be presented as evidence in court. We may not be lawyers. However, the jury said this is a certified piece of art, and we agree.

This organized pile of emails has been sorted according to colors. However, from sideways, they look like a fashionable belt that can be used for the pride month. Sometimes, perfectionists do not even have to try to make something aesthetic. All they do is move their finger, and an art piece is born.

Pipes

The OP might have accidentally hired the reincarnated Leonardo Da Vinci to do their plumbing. Pipes do not necessarily have to be the only source of water. With the right contractor, they can and will make artwork that will soothe your mind.

Does this not look like a waterfall made by an abstract modern artist? This is a clear example of how symmetry and balance define beauty. Even simple PVC pipes from Home Depot feel like an abstract sculpture if symmetry is maintained.

Cup

Let it be known that teacups are one of the oldest vessels of art among all other utensils. Since ancient times, artisans have practiced various techniques to make tea cups elegant through the centuries. Go to the museum, and you will see.

You will find gorgeous teacups that date back thousands of years ago. Back then, some royals invited talented teacup artists to their court. Whoever made this teacup flower must be a descendant of those skilled artisans because this could pass as creativity at its finest.

Spreadable Cheese

One of our friends who owns a supermarket once told us that they intentionally always try to hire workers with OCD. It sounded mean at first since it felt as if he was taking advantage of people suffering from such an affliction.

However, after visiting their store, we understood why. Everything in there was perfectly organized and pristine. This particular tube cheese aisle reminds us of that store. Spreadable cheese itself is a luxury. However, when you organize them elegantly, it can look like a painting.

Oreos

In 2018, Khloe Kardashian went mega-viral for how she stacked her cookie jar with Oreos. In case you are wondering, this is what it looks like. It looks less like a flower and more like a flower arrangement. Don’t you think so?

It is known that Khloe suffers from OCD. While we glorify the benefits of this disorder, it also has some disadvantages. For example, Khloe was shown to be distressed when someone slightly messed up her color-coded fridge. We think everyone should look at both sides of the story.
