You may know Apple as being a phone and computer manufacturer. But, what if they made self-driving cars? Well, this may be a present reality sooner than you might think. Several years back, there were rumors that the corporation was working on a self-driving car, but the tech stalled. Now, it looks like the car project is back in development.

News outlets like the Wall Street Journal and CNBC have both reported that Apple is hoping to manufacture here in the United States of America. As one of the most valuable corporations in the world, this piece of technology would make the company that much more lucrative.

The hope is that Apple will make an electric vehicle with battery-powered technology. With Apple being a revolutionary in the world of cell phone batteries, the chances are they will do the same in the automotive industry. The iCar, or whatever name Apple wants to give it, will easily cost tens of thousands of dollars since the average cost of new electric vehicles is around $40,000. But, Project Titan, the name Apple gave the project back in 2016, is coming along strong.

Apple is even in talks with Kia and Hyundai, hoping that the automotive companies will help build their vehicle when it is ready for sale. Since most foreign automakers build their vehicles in southeast America, you can expect the same with this Apple car. Either way, the Apple car investment will be in the ballpark of $3 billion. The big investment will be interesting to see how quickly it will pay off for Apple.
